At Ruby Young Talented and Gifted Academy, students have a rich array of extracurricular activities to engage in, including band, cheerleading, and athletics. Additionally, students in 5th through 8th grade have the opportunity to participate in the Drone Academy, made possible through our partnership with the DeSoto Police Department. We are proud to host a chapter of the National Junior Honor Society as well.
Our commitment to holistic education extends to our community garden, where all students are involved, integrating core subjects seamlessly into hands-on learning experiences. Through partnerships, students delve into 3-D printing and various engineering projects. Other offerings on our campus include JROTC, choir, and a newly formed drumline.
Students looking to take on leadership roles can join the student council and become ambassadors for our school. We also offer diverse experiences such as visits to local museums, academic programs, celebrations of cultural heritages, as well as seasonal events like Spring on Young and Winter on Young.
